Sony Xperia S Editor review: Why should you buy Sony Xperia S?

Design, Outlook and the Screen:

I am a real fan of the way all the Xperia phones look, the outer rubbeish and plastic feel makes the owner comfortable and also makes the device less slippery. The Xperia S however, has a good size of 128x64x11mm and weighs around 144gms which makes it good to hold and carry in pocket device. The 4.3 inches screen possess a good resolution and includes sony’s engine color processing technology to bring out the best from the screen. The three android controls are good but and well fitted into the whole build but they did sometimes take a few trials before being activated.

CPU and Software:

The Android gingerbread running on the 1.5 Ghz dual-core processor makes it an amazing super -fast device, the operating system runs almost perfectly on the processor without any glitches whatsoever. However, the UI for the device when over crowded with widgets and notifications seem to become a little slow to respond. Also, Sony has tweaked the Xperia interface a little, so widgets like Timescape now look a little different and may because of that factor a felt the speed difference.

Camera and Memory:

Sony has always been great with camera for mobile phones this one is no exception, the 12.1-megapixel camera with Sony’s Exmor R for mobile CMOS sensor is one of the best that an mobile phone comes with and to add to that the features like LED flash and autofocus make it a real star. It also has Face Recognition and Smile Shutter on top of everything. There is an exceptional 32 GB memory on board however, the lack of a memory card slot lets the device down. However, memory these days is no more a problem as there are several apps for the Android platform that give you the cloud storage of up to 50 GB.

Battery:

The 1430 mAh battery packed along with the device is a good one and gives some real good stand by and game times especially considering the fact that we are playing Playstation games on the Android platform.

Price and My verdict:

The device is not yet launched in India however it is expected to make an entry into the Indian markets soon and is expected to cost somewhere between the 20 to 25k mark, the phone is a good one and can be a good choice especially seeing that the camera and design features that suit Indians.
