Toshiba (Toshiba Corporation is a Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation, headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Toshiba is a diversified manufacturer and marketer of electrical products, spanning information & communications equipment and systems, Internet-based solutions and services, electronic components and materials, power systems, industrial and social infrastructure systems, and household appliances.) has been more or less quite about its new Android tablet the only revelation that has been made is that the company is working on one. But, recently probably for the first time the images of the device have been leaked and also there are many sources which are claiming to have obtained the detailed specs also. The name that the Toshiba tablet has been given is the Folio 100 which indeed suits the Toshiba range of products.

Among the obtained specs we have, Android 2.2, NVIDIA Tegra 2 , a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 screen, 16GB internal memory, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth, 3G, SD and MMC card readers, HDMI and USB 2.0 ports, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and a 1020mAh battery with a battery life of up to 7 hours with mixed use (browsing and video playback). Software-wise, it’s got Opera mobile browser, Flash 10.1, an e-book reader, and some office applications.
The Folio 100 will reportedly measure 11.1″ x 7.1″ x 0.6″ and weigh 1.7 pounds. The tablet does appear to have 3G capabilities (in addition to 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth), so if it can make phone calls it might also be able to run Google’s app suite including the Android Market. There will definitely be a Toshiba Market app for downloading some third party apps. Added to all these is Toshiba’s claim of a 7 hour battery life which indeed will be something that the company will try to fulfill when the tablet is rolled out.

It probably would be a IFA release that is waiting for this Toshiba tablet and also maybe the device will come out with an October shipping date. No information is available about the price tag that the device will bear. But it seems as though the device is going to be a huge competition for of the market winners right now probably the iPad will get some good competition. Also, the galaxy tablet that is making news in the market due to its continuous leaks will have to be beware of this upcoming tablet. Although the device is still to be confirmed by the Toshiba brand but like most other leaks we are quite sureo of some of the features.
