There are many people who are not able to stay in touch with their dearest ones because of busy and hectic schedule or long distance. If you are one of them, then this new app named Family Story is perfect for you. Family Story has been unveiled by Samsung for its Windows Phone devices. Recently, Nokia has also unveiled an exclusive app for Windows Phone. Family Story app is not as good as Nokia apps like Transport, Drive, Reading, etc. but it is helpful for the people who want to stay connected with their family members or close friends. It is described as a social network service for families by the company.
It is a great platform to share memories, photos, videos and information between you and your family. This app helps you keep in touch with your family or friends by sharing photos and messages. Users can create their own family story and make the family bonding strong. Users can share memos, events and photos with their loved ones or far-away family and bring them closer. The Family Story app supports 43 different languages and can be used on Samsung Smartphones running on Android 2.3 or above, tablets that run on Android 3.0 or more as well as SMART TV and Blu-ray Player (both with Smart Hub). Users who don’t own a Samsung device can also use this app through the website.
To get started with the app, you have to create a Samsung account. Sign up process is very easy and takes only few minutes. You are required to provide an email ID, a password and your phone number to get a verification code. Once you have created an account, you can access all the features of this app. After that, you have to make groups by hitting the “Create group” option. Provide necessary information for creating the group. You can make only one group for every Samsung device. As you make the group, you will become the Group Leader automatically.
After creating the group, you have to invite about 20 members to join your group. You can send invitations by two ways: through email or by mobile number. If anybody has sent you an invitation, then you can join their group. You are able to join maximum 20 groups. Now, create your story by adding photos, memos and event. You can upload jpg, .gif, .png and .bmp photos and share a story connected to that photo. You can upload 50 photos together and can store as much as 1,000 photos in a group.
You can write 200 characters memo for sharing your stories and congratulatory messages with your group members. You can also share events with your group members. You are able to enter detailed information for your events such as date, type, location and time. You can also upload photos related to event. You can add as much as memos and events you want. Each and every member of the group is able to upload photos and leave comments & messages for the other members of the group to view and read.
On the Cover Story page, you can see popular and 20 most recent photos and recent updates. You can sort the photos according to “By photo date” or “By upload date” and event by “View list” or “View calendar”. You are able to see detailed information of the photo such as comments, descriptions and related events – thanks to Photo Viewer. You can easily make changes or delete the photos, memos and events that have been created by you. If you are a Group leader, then you can also delete the photos that have been uploaded by other members of the group.
All the comments and information related to photos, memos, or events will be also deleted. You can also take backup of all the photos in order to save them on your computer. Family Story app works as a messenger for the owners of Windows Phone. Users can not only give comments on activities of group members, but also send private messages to them.
Family Story app comes pre-loaded in most of the Samsung Omnia M Smartphones. This app is available for free of cost at Google play.
