If you have remembered almost 10 year ago, we had an opportunity of witnessing a total Solar Eclipse from India on 11 August 1999. Later than a very long time wait we are again having a chance to see on Wednesday, 2009 July 22, a total eclipse from the India. Till 2114, the upcoming eclipse will be longest total solar eclipse.
Total solar eclipse (Grahan) Photos & Video
According to Indian Standard Time, Solar Eclipse will be seen between 5:28 AM to 7:40 AM. This eclipse will be on Pushya Nakshatra and Cancer Sign (Karka Rashi). The total solar eclipse will last nearly four minutes from 6.26 am to 6.30 am – In India and the sun will not be visible at all.
Total solar Eclipse will be able to be seen in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Northeastern States in India. It is a “Total Solar Eclips”, according to NASA and the Moon’s umbral shadow on Sun stars in India and crosses from side to side Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, China and ends in the Pacific Ocean.
In regions around Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) and Patna (Bihar), in India the total solar eclipse will be visible.
In India, the majority of the areas will not have a view of the Total solar eclipse. It will be a partial eclipse in Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai, as per NASA data.

i am born on 27/12/1966 will it effect on me,2} its good/bad sign for me or not,3} advantage and dis-advantage for me,
Shreyas,
Are you planning to see it with naked eyes?
Your eyes may be permanantly damaged, as it will be very strong rays before and just after the eclipse.
Best is to get a guidance from agency like Nehru Planetorium or Astrophysics department on how to view this.
DON’T TRY with naked eyes. Even best of the brands sun glasses are unable to filter the harmful infrared radiation. So be careful.
Sir / Madam,
Kindly reply to me, i travel from home to office from 7am, so i am used to take food during 6.30am to 7.00am, So i do take bath before 6.30am usually. Tomorrow what time shall i take bath, and at what time shall i take food. Kindly reply.
HI
I t is very wonderful, but no use for me,I Love ZIYAULHUK
sharon …
WHAT RUBBISH.
go out. enjoy the eclipse. one wont happen for another century and more.
nothing will happen to your baby.
hi all,
which will be the best option to view the solar eclipse.
any suggestions.
To All,
Direct viewing. If you prefer to look directly at the Sun, you can use a square or rectangular arc-welder’s glass of shade #13 or #14, available for a few dollars from local welding-supply stores. (Don’t get a lower-numbered shade; the Sun will be too bright to look at safely.) Alternatively, special, cheap “eclipse glasses” (right) are widely made from safe solar filter materials.
A solar filter that’s designed to be used with a telescope is also safe for viewing with the otherwise unaided eye.
Hi All,
…. Buhaaaaaaaaaaaa
Watch the eclipse with naked eye and body
mr date of birth is 15-08-1985 so what will the effect of this solar eclips today will it benificial for me or not i want to know about it
HI SHARON CONGRATS I THINK U STAY INSIDE IS BETTER BECAUSE EVEN WE ARE IN 21ST CENTURY WE DONT KNOW COMPLETELY ABOUT ALL THE THINGS AND OUR FORE FORMERS ARE KNEW THE THINGS VERY WELL THEY CLEARELY FOUND THE STARS AND UNIVERSAL CONDITIONS WITHOUT ANY ROCKETS OR LAUNCHERS SO THEY KEPT ALL THE THINGS WITH ONE REASON SO BE ALONG WITH THEM
I have never seen such foolish comments in my life….PLZ u guys be serious…and try to realise why it is said that Solar eclipse is dangerous…Its dangerous only if u look at it-it could damage your eye…Thats it……..Sunlight has some carcinogenicfactors(cancer causing/mutilating)-but thie chance of such a damage to occur is minimal…..that shouldn’t stop u from going out in the sunlight……But rest assured there is nothing special about solar ecclipse in this regard….During solar ecclipse no “special” rays come from the sun….its the same very old rays….
.Its only that during an ecclipse because of the reduced intensity we maybe able to look directly at the sun(which we CANNOT do normally…..and even if u somehow manage….the pupil of the eye constricts and protect the eye to an extent)and the pupil may remain open because of the low intensity…..here the remaining light from the sun will easily get into your eye and damages it…
Apart from this problem…there is none other and definitely none to the rest of the body or your baby
I repeat again Sunrays are basically UV rays-whether its a solar ecclipse or no ecclipse……Its harmful to human body……which is why we should be thanking the Ozone layer, which absorb much of these radiation…UV rays are cancer-causing(esp skin cancer)…..but like cigarette smoke only exposure above a certain level does actually cause cancer…..The effect is so minimal (much lower than the risk of cigarette smoke causing cancer)that it hasn’t stopped anyone(except someone with a condition called Ataxia Telangiectasia) from going out in the sun….Solar ecclipse does not produce any new rays…..But still it is considered dangerous only because of the eye problem….
If u still insist on being afraid…..I would advice u to stay away from anybody who smokes, don’t breathe our atmospheric air(it may contain harmful viruses which can mutilate your baby)…..don’t eat fodd(it can contain additives whcih are harmful)!!!!!!
these are more likely to harm your baby than a solar-ecclipse!!!!
