Online Speed test at Verizon
There are many different ways to check the speed of your FiOS or DSL connection. You can check your internet connection speed through the Verizon’s online speed test page. Verizon provides a test designed exclusively for FiOS customers.
How fast is your FiOS connection?
Verizon FiOS provides state-of-the-art connection speeds with its fiber optic technology. You can measure the FiOS advantage by testing the upload and download speeds of your connection as a FiOS customer. The speed test measures how fast data moves through your FiOS fiber optic connection and demonstrates the superior speeds the Verizon FiOS provides.
There is also an older speed test of Verizon that was designed for its DSL users but this test uses javascript, so it will work in almost all browsers, however it may not be as accurate as infospeed.verizon.net/speedtest.
How does the Verizon Online Speed Test work?
Verizon High Speed Internet Speed test sends explode of random data for 10 seconds and calculates the amount of data that is transferred from the Internet to your computer (download) and from your computer to the Internet (upload) within a set amount of time of your connection by measuring how many bits of data were transferred during the 10-second period. I am having a lot of trouble getting web pages to load. I’m using dsl, airport on a 07 IMAC computer. It used to be very fast and now won’t load from the internet for at least a couple of minutes, sometimes not at all. Re-booting the computer doesn’t seem to help, and re-booting the dsl wireless modem helps for about a day. Can this problem be solved?
