NFCC Debt Management:
You may be eligible to enroll in a Debt Management Plan (DMP), if you have severe debt. A systematic way to pay down your outstanding debt through monthly deposits to your credit counseling agency, which will then distribute these funds to your creditors, is a Debt Management Plan. You may benefit from reduced or waived finance charges and fewer collection calls, by participating in this program. You get help to re-establish credit, when you have completed your payments.
Through a DMP, it takes approximately 36-60 months to repay debts. Through an NFCC Member Agency, your accounts with creditors will always be credited with 100 percent of the amount you pay. While creditors receive the money owed to them, a DMP serves the dual role of helping you repay your debts.
Debt Management Plan is an effective for those with considerable debt problems, entering into DMP is a first step on the road to a financially stable, debt-free life.
