The former Indian cricket team captain Anil Kumble has launched his coffee table book titled “Wide Angle – Candid Moments From My Playing Days” The book shows his three great passions which are Photography, Cricket and Wildlife. The book was launched at the ITC Gardenia in Bangalore, where Shane Warne, Sidhartha Mallya, the son of Dr. Vijay Mallya, Chairman, The UB Group, Mr. Alok Bharadwaj were also cordially invited. Kumble appears in a different avatar with his new book.
The book is being printed and distributed by India’s premier online digital photography company, Canvera, who has won many awards for the quality of their coffee-table-books. The book is produced and marketed by TENVIC, a Division of Anil Kumble Sports Pvt. Ltd. The book is available at Rs. 5,900 in the market and is also available online at www.wideangle.canvera.com.
A Sachine Tendulkar also writes in the foreword in the book, “Anil has always been an passionate photographer, and when I see the results in this book, they take me back. As long as I am in the team, you will have no privacy,” The Wide Angle book has the huge collection of photographs that were personally taken by Kumble during his international tours. The book is a combination of writings, pictures and many frank moments with the Indian cricket team.
Anil Kumble said at the function, “This book will give you some insight into what happens in a cricketer’s life outside of the game itself” The book includes many early moments of Kumble’s life and career highlight since he was 17 years old. He captures important events and incidents of the Indian Cricket team and always spends his time to capture different type of historical places and memorials on cricketing tours.
The Australian player Shane Warne who was present at the book inauguration said, “I have been lucky enough or unlucky enough to play against Anil for nearly 20 years. We are still playing against each other in the IPL.” Kumble is captain of the IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals team led by Warne in IPL season 3.
