Former NBA player Lorenzen Wright founded dead on Wednesday July 28, 2010, from wooded area in Memphis Hacks Cross Road, near Winchester. The Funeral arrangement of Lorenzen Wright was held at at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn on Wednesday afternoon. Lorenzen Wright’s Funeral had been attended by thousands of his fans and his family.
Lorenzen Wright was 34 years old, born and raised in Memphis. He was last seen alive at around 2 a.m on July 18, 2010, leaving his ex-wife’s home, and after the some days on July 22, he was filed missing by his mother. Wright was disappeared after being dropped off at ex-wife, Sherra Wright’s Memphis home by an unnamed woman, and was reportedly carrying a fair amount of cash at the time of his disappearance.
On the day he went missing, a 911 call was placed from Wright’s cell phone early in the morning, on 19th July. ABC Channel 24 in Memphis reported that the caller was speaking with the dispatcher when several gun shots rang out. Investigators did not know about the call came from his phone until July 27. The police has been investigated the case as a homicide. No arrests have been made yet.
Lorenzen Wright’ public memorial was held yesterday 4th August at the FedEx Forum, the same building where he once played as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. The building is just miles away from his former high school, Booker T. Washington High School, and college, the University of Memphis.
During his 13-year NBA career, he played for the Memphis Grizzlies from 2001-2006, Los Angeles Clippers, Atlanta Hawks, and Sacramento Kings and in the most recent time he played for Cleveland Cavaliers. He also played for the University of Memphis and Booker T. Washington High School in Memphis.
Lorenzen Wright’s father Herb Wright said “When he was growing up, and he used to go out in the backyard and run, and after four or five steps, he ended up on his behind. He done fell. He was clumsy and from that he became a great athlete,”
“He was a family man, he loved his parents, loved his children. He did everything he could do to help the city of Memphis,” said Joseph Kyles, Wright’s fraternity brother.
