Narendra Modi Swine Flu tests Is Positive

One of the shocking news for the people of Gujarat is there as Narendra Modi, the chief minister of Gujarat has tested positive for swine flu on Friday 30th 2009 morning. With a bang, Swine Flu is back on national headlines as the most recent victim of it is Narendra Modi.

According to Gujarat Government spokesperson “Narendra Modi tested positive after undergoing an H1N1 virus test and he will be kept in isolation for seven days”.

Narendra Modi has just returned from a trip to Russia before two days. On Thursday samples of Modi were taken for test due to symptoms of cough, cold and fever were shown. This was told by one of the four doctors in the team looking after the Chief Minister, Atul Patel. Modi tested positive after undergoing an H1N1 virus test according to doctors at the government hospital.

With Dr Atul Patel, Ahmedabad’s famous virologist, heads the panel of doctors and other doctors in the team contains Dr R K Patel, head of the U N Mehta Medical Centre, Professor Kamlesh Upadhyay, Dr Paresh Vora and Dr Asha Shah, dean of the Post-Graduate Medical College.

At his residence, Modi will be kept in isolation for 7 days, where a team of doctors are attending on him.

Modi’s doctor said, “There is no cause for any concern regarding the health of the Chief minister and he is responding to treatment.”

Modi had attended office at the State Secretariat, chaired a cabinet meeting and met officers and received visitors till late in the evening on yesterday. Afterward, his fever increased and he decided to cancel all official programmes and take the swine flu test.

The public functions of Chief Minister are cancelled.

Now the entire Gujarat cabinet is also being tested for the disease as the ministers were with the chief minister in a three-hour cabinet meeting on yesterday after his blood samples were taken.
