PepsiCo Inc. plans to remove sugary and full calorie cold drinks from schools in more than 200 countries in the next two years. The health expert says full calories and sugary drinks are harmful to the human body. The U.S based soft Drinks producer said, it has cut the number of high calorie soft drinks from the schools because their main aim to remove childhood fatness.
Nearly, 50% Americans are overweight by drinking far more soda and other sugary drinks over the last four decades. The world heart Federation specialist said that, the school students are fighting with the fatness, which can lead to diabetes, heart problems and other ailments.
Both famous company, PepsiCo and Coca-Cola are the world’s second largest Soft drink companies which have been adopted this plan in 2006 to stop selling to sugary drinks in U.S. schools. But this month Coca-Cola changed its global sales policy because it won’t sell any of its drinks in primary schools worldwide. The company wants to remove sugary drinks from schools with age of 18 year children.
The Heart Association Precedent Pekka Puska said, “It may be not so well known in the U.S. how intensive the marketing of soft drinks is in so many countries.” He said the other developing country Mexico has also affected by this strong marketing. He hopes other companies feel pressured to make similar moves. The PepsiCo will be permissible to sold in Primary schools only water, sugar free or low fat milk, juice and along with low calories soft drink like diet Pepsi.
The American Beverage Association reported last week, the PepsiCo industry has exchanged lower calorie options in to the U.S schools between the year of 2004 and 2009. The company said, “we have not exact figures for sales in schools around the world.” The former President Bill Clinton’s foundation and the American Heart Association adopted guidelines as part of the agreement with the Alliance for a Healthier Generation in 2006.

is taking pepsi out of schools the reason the price of a 12 pack of pepsi has gone up to $5.00 .i drink pepsi instead of water and i am not over weight i weigh 150 and i am 5ft 9 in tall.every time a price goes up higher you hear its bad for uour health.i remember hearing tissue paper causes cancer,,, tissue paper prices went up to.as i see it nothing is really good for or safe for us to eat,drink,or ues on our body.is all this talk just that TALK so prices can go up.poor people are going to starve to death,,,which includes chidren….because prices are already toooooooooooo high.
