Siliguri Municipal Corporation Elections 2009 result will be declared today 15th September. Trinmool Congress -Congress alliance appeared victorious on 16 seats in Siliguri Municipal election, continuing its victory campaign. While the Left Front got only 8 seats as per results of 24 seats for those results were declared.
On 13th September 2009, the municipal election in Siliguri was finished quietly. As a prestige fight between the Left Front, which held the previous board, and the Trinamool Congress-Congress alliance, the election has emerged. But the Trinamool Congress’s political graph in West Bengal is going up.
Siliguri Municipal board is having 47 members, but there was majority of Left Front in the house up to now. The Left’s ground is receding in its stronghold, according to the elections results indications. While Trinmool Congress secured victory on nine seats, Congress bagged six seats followed. Left Front is bagged out of the eight seats, CPI-M got six, into account RSP and Forward Bloc have gone one each.
In the outgoing board, the Left Front had secured 36 seats during last election, Trinamool Congress five, Congress four, while BJP got and independent one, according to political analysts describe the results. An independent had also won during the last election.
