The Indian telecom giants like Bharti Airtel, TATA and Reliance have never looked back once they jumped into the field of satellite TV. The consumerate has been the one that has always gained in the cold war that has started between the companies in this field. Each of these companies are trying to provide their consumers with the best of the features that not only have redefined the TV viewing experience but also given the consumers a better control over the quality he wants on his TV. It should be mentioned that Sun Direct was the first that started HD broadcasting in India. Then Dish, Big TV, Tata Sky as well as Airtel became the part of the HD fray.
The leaders in the telecom field Bharti Airtel are now giving their all in the Satellite television market and are going to launch the Dolby Digital Plus surround sound technology on its set top box Dolby Digital Plus is considered to be a new and sophisticated audio system that is based on previously existing Dolby Digital audio system. As a matter of fact, it is compatible with the Dolby Digital 5.1-channel formats that are usually used in home theatre systems. And if you are still not finding that gripping enough then- this one on Digital TV HD even provides as much as 7.1 channel support.

“Innovative technology that adds value to customer experiences is a vital element of our brand endeavors. HD is usually about visual appeal but our consumer insight says that TV is as much an audio medium as it is visual. That is why we have invested in being the first to bring to India the Dolby Digital Plus sound experience in HD Set top boxes. This launch underlines our key strength of understanding consumer needs and using technology to deliver a simple elegant benefit to our valued customers who will experience the next level of TV viewing in India” said Mr. Ajal Puri who is the CEO of Bharti Airtel DTH services, on the occasion of the launch of the technology.
Although the sudden rise in technology now suggests that the High Definition TV viewing will be like never before in the country, but there is a catch in the same- there are not many channels in our country that offer HD content. So, now even though Airtel has launched HD technology in the country it is hard to find how the Indian consumer would benefit from the same as even if he has a HD set top box to watch he does not have the channels to run on it.
However, to avail the service, customers can buy the Airtel digital TV HD from any near-by retailer or call 1860-500-6500 at local rates or call 12148 from Airtel mobile phones or send HD as sms to 54325. So get going!!!!
