Much awaited Hyundai i10 Electric car was launched on 4 January, Wednesday at Delhi auto expo 2010. Hyundai i10 Electric, small car was unveiled by the Bollywood star Shahrukh Khan, ambassador of Hyundai Motors. 49kW (66.6 PS) electric motor is situated under the hood of new i10 electric which will power its front wheels. Hyundai i10 Electric has 16 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, where the electricity will be stored. This battery pack is similar to battery powering of cell-phones and other electronic devices. Hyundai i10 Electric Price will be in the range of 4-5 lakhs Rs in India but exactly its cost is not known.
Hyundai i10 Electric will run for 160 kilometers with a top speed of 130 km/h on the full charge of battery.
Hyundai i10 Electric can run for 160 km/h because it has dual recharging cycles and it would take approximately five hours to be completely charged. At present, the company is planning to expand its network, in addition Saxena said, “We have today spread over 260 cities, and have 286 dealers and 80 sales branches. We plan to expand to 320 cities and 1,340 branches this year.” An all-electric zero-emission vehicle is Hyundai i10 Electric which reconciles motoring with the ecological ambitions of clients seeking a vehicle with the best possible environmental footprint.

This is looks to be a promising car for India. When this car will be available for Indian customers?… Sooner the better…. I am told Initially Hyundai Motors will sell this car to Indian Govt only….and may be later on will be avaialble to others in India…
