With the upcoming of the Paris Motor Show which is scheduled to take place next month, some interesting shots are expected to be seen there. The trend of the show is to be the concept of electric vehicles, which is very much required and expected in the current scenario. According to latest news on the web, Kia Motors will be there at the Paris Motor Show 2010 offering us more details on the latest Pop Concept, which is a zero emissions car, quite similar to the Nissan Leaf.

According to the latest news, the radical Kia Pop Concept will make its debut at that show. It features as a three seat electric vehicle with a design theme which is polarizing, and is already receiving “snarky comments on the Internet.” One of the auto websites had said about it that “It looks “like what Hello Kitty might drive if she lived in the Tron universe.”
At the earlier part of this year, at the 2010 Chicago Auto Show, the Kia Ray plug-in Hybrid sedan made its debut. But, the Kia Pop EV Concept has made a move into a far riskier design territory than the Kia Ray plug-in Hybrid sedan. According to the design of the car, the Kia Pop is 10 feet long, and is clearly defined and delineated by highlights as pincer-like headlights, a panoramic roof and oval side windows mounted on the diagonal.

The tiny Kia Pop Concept has LED lights and a power point at the rear. Compared to the tiny Toyota iQ, the Kia Pop Concept is slightly longer. The cabin of the car features an interior in the hue of purple, and has a front bench for the accommodation of two people, and a rear seat for the single accommodation. The other specifications of the Kia Pop Concept have not yet been revealed by Kia Motors. The Korean automaker’s London office issued a statement saying the Pop city car is designed to be “convention-challenging.”

For information, Kia Motors (Korean: ?????) is South Korea‘s second largest automobile manufacturer, having sold over 1.6 million cars in 2009. Since 2005, Kia has focused on the European market and has identified “design” as its “core future growth engine”. With its headquarters in Seoul, the company is partially owned by the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group. Schreyer, Chief Design Officer, indicated in a 2007 interview that Kia had a “neutral image” prior to his arrival. “In the past, the Kia cars were very neutral. When you saw one on the road, you didn’t really know if it was Korean or Japanese…I think it’s very important that you are able to recognize a Kia at first sight.”
With the ever increasing of global warming and emissions of cars in the atmosphere, it seems to be the right time, if not late, to come up with some innovative ideas of electric cars, so that a sustainable and healthy environment can be truly attained.
