New Hyundai ix20, a new B-segment MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) will be unveiled at the end of this month at Paris Motor Show. The Hyundai ix20 is expected to be available for selling first in the UK on 11 November 2010, with a price of at least £12,500.
The new Hyundai ix20 MPV car has been designed and developed at Hyundai’s European research and development centre in Russelsheim, Germany and will make the world premiere in Paris on 30th September 2010. It will be sportier than the last iteration, and it will boast Hyundai’s new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language. It is expected, the Hyundai ix20 MPV will be compete in the subcompact car segment such as the Honda Fit.
It is the second European car after the ix35, to adopt Hyundai’s new ‘fluidic sculpture’ design language. By this fall, the Hyundai ix20 will be available only in Europe. The pricing information for other European markets is to be released later. The model will be powered by a 1.4-liter gasoline engine that produces 89 horsepower or 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 125 horsepower. It’s exciting features include an Air-con, stop-start, ESP and Bluetooth connectivity will all be standard, as will side and curtain airbags.
It will also come with Hyundai’s five year/unlimited mileage warranty as standard. In addition, as a flexible and user-friendly interior, it should be cheap to run with a range of frugal engines including 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol engines and a 1.4-litre diesel.
2011 Hyundai i10 will also make its world premiere at the 2010 Paris Auto Show. This model will be debuted second time from the Korean automaker. It is an updated version of the i10 supermini with a new 1.0-litre engine that promises CO2 emissions below 99 g/Km, meaning zero annual car tax. The Hyundai i10 is set to sell in January next year.
Hyundai Motor America spokesman Dan Bedore said in response to an e-mailed query from Inside Line that “There are no plans to bring either vehicle to the U.S. market at this time,”
According to the press release, “At this year’s Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris on September 30th, Hyundai will celebrate the world premiere of its new B-segment MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle). To be presented as the Hyundai ix20, a sketch revealed today shows the new model as a striking departure from the boxy ‘minivan’ image typically associated with the segment, adopting a more dynamic, sportier profile in line with Hyundai’s reputation as a modern, progressive automaker.”

“The ix20 will go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2010, supported by Hyundai’s groundbreaking Five Year Triple Care package, which includes a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty; five years of roadside assistance; and five years of free vehicle health checks.”
