In Electronics industry, Sony and Samsung are one of the biggest electronic item providers. Both companies are going to launch 3D televisions in coming months worldwide. This 3D television is going to prove hot product in the electronic market.

In June month, Sony Corp will launch its 3D television, while the Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, the masters for flat-screen TVs will launch its 3D television in this month.
Yoshihisa Ishida, head of Sony television has also announced last week that for this year LCD sales targets have been increased to 25 million units, out of which 10 percent are 3D.

In South Korea, Samsung Electronic Ltd has already launched its 3D TVs and said this month they will initiate 3D TVs worldwide. The main aim of the Samsung Company is to sell at least 2 million 3D TVs this year.
In Seoul market analyst, Alex Oh of Hanwha Securities said, “Sony is a formidable competitor to Samsung because it is leading the game industry. It will likely be ardent game players who will first buy 3D TVs as an early adopter”. “In that sense, Sony, which is envisioning a comprehensive entertainment company, will take advantage of its game business, contents and movies, compared with Samsung and LG which remain focused on hardwares.”
For the position as world’s No. 2 flat TV maker, Sony is competing with LG Electronics. Manufacturer’s believes that this launch will be a big launch in the market. Both companies said that the 2010 will be the debut year of 3D TV.
Panasonic (fourth largest electronic company) has launched its 3D TVs in the US on last Wednesday.
Samsung’s 3D glasses charge $250 a piece, Robert Gumiela director of Samsung marketing for consumer electronics said “Our original expectation was that this would be a fairly modest launch, just because the retail price points we were talking about … generally makes it a smaller market”. He also added “But the response we’ve received from our retailers, the orders we’ve received, have greatly exceeded our expectations and I think a lot of that has been based upon (retailers’) communication with their own customers and clientele saying, ‘This is what I want’.”
While Sony sets will be available with two pairs of special glasses and a camera sensor which will regulate the volume and picture quality depending on viewer sits. For the glasses, you have to pay extra money. And Samsung Electronics announced about the package which comes with 46-inch 3-D set, Two Pair Of 3-D Glasses, 3-D Blu-ray Player and a free movie for only $3,000.
The demand of 3D TVs will possibly reach 15.6 million units in the year 2013 from a predictable 1.2 million this year. According to the reports, the demand of the 3D TVs will be increased up to 64 million in the year 2018.
The starting price of the Samsung 3D TVs is $1,700 for the 46-inch 240Hz CCFL backlit LN46C750; while 55-inch 240Hz LED backlit UN55C9000 will cost $6,999. And the starting price of the 46 inch Sony 3D TVs is $3,898 and Sony’s TDG-BR100 and TDG-BR50 secure glasses will cost nearly $133.
