The Motorola Pro+ is a new Android-based Qwerty Budget smartphone from Motorola that will specially target professionals. The successor of the Motorola Droid Pro, the Droid Pro+ has a design reminiscent of a BlackBerry. The latest work-and-play Android smartphone runs on Android 2.3 “Gingerbread” and a 1-GHz processor. Though the phone is optimized for business, it is fun enough to use for personal life. The Motorola Pro+ is scheduled to unveil next month in Europe and Asia.
The Motorola PRO+ is said to be a sleek “personal assistant that fits right in your pocket.” It is going to have a 3.1-inch, 640-by-480 touch-screen display prepared of scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla glass that set above BlackBerry-esque QWERTY keyboard. The device comes equipped with business-oriented software like Quickoffice Connect for accessing, editing and creating documents on-the-go.
The device also comes with Motorola’s security software and direct dial conference options. Security features of the handset include password expiration, remote wipe and history and full encryption. As well, it comes equipped with Exchange ActiveSync security policies for professional users that comprise PIN lock, Extended Device Management APIs, auto-discovery of Exchange Servers and 3LM integration. Its calendar option allows you to edit, arrange, and respond to meeting invites.
The handset contains 5-megapixel camera with auto focus and LED flash. The phone comes loaded with connectivity features like 4G, 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS. Other features of the phone include 1,600-mAh battery, 4GB microSD card for storage, as well as 512MB of RAM. There is no announcement about U.S. release but there will be versions compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T, as said by Motorola.
