21st century’s longest Total solar eclipse (Surya Grahan) Photos & Video
The solar eclipse of July 22, 2009 was the longest total solar eclipse of the 21st century, lasting at most 6 minutes, 39 seconds. Today’s total eclipse of the Sun was visible from within a narrow corridor that traverses half of Earth. The path of the Moon’s umbral shadow began in India and crossed through Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar and China. Scientists said it was the longest eclipse until the year 2132.
Darkness fell across parts of China and India on today morning. After leaving mainland Asia, the path crosses Japan’s Ryukyu Islands and curves southeast through the Pacific Ocean where the maximum duration of totality reaches 6 min 39 second. A partial eclipse is seen within the much broader path of the Moon’s penumbral shadow, which includes most of eastern Asia, Indonesia, and the Pacific Ocean.
Here are some resources where you can find information about the eclipse photos and Videos from various parts of the world.
