Wynncom OGO O-77 Konnect : Review of Budget QWERTY Phone

The Wynncom OGO 0-77 Konnect is a budget QWERTY mobile phone with instant messaging and multiple social networking apps such as Facebook, Flickr, Twitter and Picasa under one roof. A good optical trackpad, Dual SIM capability, decent camera and display into the mix make the O-77 Konnect a good multimedia phone. Java enabled Wynncom OGO O-77 Konnect supports Push Email, IM, WAP, Bluetooth, EDGE connectivity, Microsoft Exchange Servers, Sun Java suites, Lotus domino and practically all IMAP 4 and POP3 to provide users fabulous User Experience. The price of the phone is very reasonable – Rs. 4499.

OGO 077 Konnect has ability to give appealing music with both the loudspeaker and handsfree that makes it more tempting to the music buffs. The phone sports 2.4 inch TFT display with a screen resolution of 240×320 pixels for a better multi-media experience. Some of the key features of the phone include a 3.2 MP camera, FM radio with recording, video recording/playback, 3.5 mm audio Jack, internal memory and external memory support up to 8GB. An optional track pad is also available for better navigation purpose and user handling. Overall, the phone is packed with all features considering the requirements of a modern user.

The phone is equipped with latest JAVA applications and Opera mini-browser for a better internet experience. The phone is provided with JAVA MIDP 2.0 and video player that can play formats including MP4, 3GP, RMVB. The OGO O-77 is powered with 1050mAh battery and you can get multiple color and back color options with the phone. It offers up to 1000 entries phonebook and bluetooth 2.0 connection for data connectivity. For wired connectivity, it does not include any USB port.

Phone Design and Build

The Wynncom OGO O-77 has a classic candy-bar form factor and dual SIM support. The phone is very light weight having just 69g (even with the battery). The phone is very presentable and the plastic used in case is sturdy that doesn’t creak even on pressing. The brightness of the phone is sufficient at the default settings; however the vertical viewing angles are not too good.

Media

The Wynncom OGO O-77 contains a built-in music player that supports mp3/MID/WAV/AAC/AMR. The music player is easy to use and the built-in accelerometer with the media player lets you to switch songs by just flicking your wrist. MP4/RMVB/3gp is supported by the video player and they are reduced to a resolution of 320 x 240.

Interface

A Java-based interface is present in the Wynncom OGO O-77 like most entry level phones. Navigating through the menu is slow but you can use the two option buttons to speedily switch pages. The home screen contains a neat layout with all the information including the battery, signal and presently used profile lined up on the top.

Camera

The 3MP camera of the phone is not so good for indoor photography. According to the user’s experience, the captured pictures with the Wynncom Konnect exhibit pale and lifeless colors. For the camera, you will get options such as exposure settings, standard scene modes, etc.

Connectivity

The Wynncom Konnect has connectivity options such as WAP, Bluetooth, and EDGE connectivity but it does not support Wi-Fi. The internal memory storage is up to 23.9MB along with external memory expansion up to 8 GB. Also, it contains Opera Mini browser and stock WAP browser.

Miscellaneous Features

The phone also contains plenty of useful applications such as a document viewer that supports PowerPoint/Word/Excel and PDFs, call recording feature, mobile tracker that helps if your phone is misplaced, Black list and other standard ones like World Time, Melody Composer, Image Viewer, Calculator, Stopwatch, Tasks and Calendar.
